The ASAUK 2022 Biennial Conference Liverpool, 2nd – 4th September is open for registration.
FEE STRUCTURE
Full and student members of ASAUK and RAS are eligible for a discount on the conference fee. For existing members, please could you ensure your membership is up to date by logging into either the ASAUK website here [Sign in to your ASA UK account – ASA UK] or RAS website here [Sign in to your Royal African Society account – Royal African Society ] and check your membership number.
If you are not a member, and want to join, so you can avail yourself of the discount, you can do this by following the new ASAUK/RAS membership link [Become a Member | ASAUK].
Once you have checked your membership is up to date, or become an ASAUK member, please use the ASAUK membership conference registration link here and follow the instructions to enable you pay discounted conference registration fee.
FEES FOR ASAUK MEMBERS AND STUDENT MEMBERS
ASAUK Member Full Conference: £200
ASAUK Member Day rate: 1 day – £93 | 2 days £186
ASAUK Student Member Full Conference: £150
ASAUK Student Member Day rate: 1 day – £55 | 2 days £110
FEES FOR NON-MEMBERS
You can register for the conference only, without ASAUK membership. This can be either for the entire three days or for the day.
Full Conference: £300
Day rate: £100
Become a Member: £285 (£200 conference fee + £85 Join-up fee)
FEES FOR PANEL CONVENORS AND PAPER GIVERS (MEMBERS & NON-MEMBERS)
Panel and paper givers will need to pay a discounted conference registration fee, to be able to attend the conference and have their papers published in the digital conference abstract publication.

There are full conference and day conference rates at concessionary rates for the retired, unemployed, those with disabilities and those attending the available portions of conference online.

FREE ONLINE CONFERENCE – REGISTRATION REQUIRED
Fully funded by the British Academy, the following online sessions are entirely free to attend. Please register through the Eventbrite link below for access to the event.

FLUTTERWAVE ECR & STUDENT NETWORKING LUNCH 3RD SEPTEMBER
Our sponsor Flutterwave is hosting a networking Lunch for students and Early Career Researchers, (ECRs) attending the conference. This will take place at the Old Library at the School of the Arts on Saturday afternoon. All ECRs and students, who would like to attend are asked to sign up here and make a nominal donation of £10 which will be a contribution to future ECR activities at ASAUK. Please sign up for the event early as the University remains cautious about room occupancy numbers post-covid. Thus attendance will be on a first come first served basis and limited to the maximum recommended room capacity.
THE ASAUK BIENNIAL DINNER AND AWARDS CEREMONY
Sponsored by Flutterwave, the ASAUK Biennial Dinner and Awards Ceremony taking place on Saturday 3rd September at the Victoria Gallery and Museum, University of `Liverpool. The dinner and awards ceremony will be preceded by a drinks reception commencing at 6pm at the same venue. We are asking all attenders to sign up for the dinner by making a donation of £30 to support future ASAUK events particularly the funding of prizes and awards for emerging academic researchers in African studies. Dinner places are allocated on a first come first served basis and the venue has a maximum seating capacity of 100, so please sign up to ensure your place. The process to book dinner is available when purchasing your conference ticket.
