Africa Book Centre has been selling books from and about Africa since April 1989.

African Books Collective was founded, and is owned and governed by African publishers. It seeks to strengthen indigenous African publishing through collective action and to increase the visibility and accessibility of the wealth of African scholarship and culture. It markets and distributes scholarly, literary and children’s titles from 83 publishers in 16 African countries.

CODESRIA Publications provides a platform for the dissemination of social science knowledge produced by Africans on Africa both within the continent and beyond.

Indiana University Press is a leading academic publisher specializing in the humanities and social sciences with an extensive publishing programme in African Studies.

The International African Institute publishes edited volumes monographs by distinguished authorities on aspects of African society and peoples.

James Currey Publishers are academic publishers on Africa and the Caribbean, specializing in archaeology, development studies, economics, gender studies, history, literary criticism, politics, theatre studies and world anthropology.

Microform Academic Publishers holds a catalogue of over 200 archival microfilm and microfiche titles relating to Africa, with particular strengths in British exploration, colonisation and missionary activity.

The Nordic Africa Institute has published over 600 academic titles on African politics, economics, social issues and modern history. The publications are aimed at an international readership of specialist researchers on Africa, decision- /policy makers at various levels and individuals with a general interest in Africa. The Institute also publishes an Annual Report (PDF) and News from the Nordic Africa Institute. These publications can be obtained free of charge from the Institute.

Ohio University Press is a leading academic publisher with a number of regional and nternational studies series.

SABDET (Southern African Book Development Education Trust) seeks to raise awareness and understanding of the importance of local publishing in African development. We have a particular interest in African scholarly publishing and and a programme aimed at strengthening links between African and Africanist scholars and African publishers.
