Global Challenges Research Fund Roundtable: Challenges and Opportunities
Global Challenges is a 5 year £1.5 billion funding stream offered through all UK research councils that seeks to tackle development issues across the globe. GCRF is part of the UK’s Official Development Assistance commitment and seeks to promote interdisciplinary research and strengthen capacity in developing countries. This roundtable will be split into two parts. The first part will offers the opportunity to learn more about global challenges from a variety of perspectives, including a representative from the funding body, a UK scholar working on a GCRF-funded project and an African scholar who has worked alongside international funders. The second part will be a roundtable discussion wherein participants can present their research ideas (roughly 5-10 minutes) and will have the opportunity to receive feedback on their ideas from the panellists. These panels are also intended to allow for scholars to network with both UK and African scholars across disciplines to enhance research opportunities.
